Scenar Therapy   Contemporary Pain Relief

"SCENAR is the most successful technology for the reduction of pain that I have used in 35 years of pain management."

Dr. Mike Shapow, PhD, Clinical Director of City of Angels Hospital, Los Angeles, and of the LA Marathon.

WHAT IS SCENAR?

Scenar is a handheld device, invented and developed for the Russian Space Programme. The device was originally made for astronauts to take into space - enabling them to treat themselves without having in-depth medical knowledge. In simple terms, Scenar works by sending minute electrical impulses through the skin, stimulating the Central Nervous System to release endorphins and other neuropeptides, resulting in a very effective and lasting form of natural pain relief; it also has the effect of accelerating healing and where symptoms have become chronic, re-starting the healing processes.

WHAT DOES A TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

The treatment plate is placed against the skin and a comfortable level of electrical impulse is established - this will give a tingling sensation. The plate is then systematically moved over the skin in the area of concern and beyond. With a back problem for example, the whole back will be assessed, as often the root of the problem is not the same as the point of pain. When the device finds an area in need of attention, you will feel an increase in the tingling sensation and the device will 'stick' to the skin; at this point an extra 'dose' of treatment will be given.

WHY CHOOSE SCENAR THERAPY TO COMPLETELY ELIMINATE OR REDUCE PAIN?

- Scenar Therapy is completely natural, working with the body to maximise its own healing ability

- There are no chemicals involved

- It is completely non-invasive

- There are no damaging effects

- And .... IT WORKS!

HOW LONG WILL A TREATMENT TAKE?

Treatments generally take a minimum of an hour, depending on the nature of the disorder or injury.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED AND HOW OFTEN?

The number and frequency of treatments needed are dependent on the type of ailment and how long it has been in existence. A recent injury may be completely healed in 1-2 sessions, a long term problem may take 8 -12. As a rule, the sooner an issue is addressed, the faster it will improve.

WHAT KIND OF COMPLAINTS DOES SCENAR WORK FOR?

CONTRA-INDICATIONS TO SCENAR TREATMENT

If you are fitted with a pace-maker Scenar treatment is not advised.

DOES SCENAR TREATMENT HAVE ANY SIDE EFFECTS

Because Scenar is stimulating the body's own healing mechanisms, it doesn't cause any detrimental effects. After initial treatments, occasionally pain may be briefly exacerbated before an improvement is felt. If the treatment is covering a large area eg the back, the treatment can temporarily result in extreme relaxation and tiredness; disturbed sleep patterns being one of the first side effects of pain to disappear as the body starts to repair itself.

                           ABOUT ME

My name is Mandy Twine. Originally a nurse, I am now a fully qualified and insured Scenar Therapist, trained through the acclaimed Revenko Scenar Training School, from basic through to masterclass level. I am a member of The Association of Energy Therapists and the British Complementary Medicine Association.

My decision to become a professional Scenar Therapist was prompted by having two accidents in one year, both resulting in broken bones. In the February I fractured my left pubic ramus (the front part of the pelvis) in two places; in the September I broke multiple ribs; one in two places and one was left overlapping itself  and would catch on the bottom of my shoulder blade. The bad news in both cases was that, other than pain killers and anti-inflammatories, the medical profession was unable to offer any intervention for either pain control or to speed up the healing process; the good news was...I knew about Scenar, having been using a device on myself, family and friends for almost twenty years.

I treated my pelvis most days, from about two weeks after the accident, with the Scenar home device. When I saw the Orthopaedic Surgeon in outpatients three weeks after the accident, he told me to expect to be on crutches for at least another three months; four days later I was without them around the house, four weeks later I did an eight mile walk in Scotland, incorporating a seven hundred metre climb. I have no doubt that it was the Scenar treatments which led to such a rapid recovery.

My rib fractures were trickier to treat as I couldn't reach them myself, but, after about two weeks, I asked my daughter to put a pair of sticky pads on my back, over the fractures, and link them up to the Scenar machine which stayed tucked in my pocket for the day. This enabled me to move around the house, pain free, and get jobs done which I had been unable to manage before. When she took the pads off, she gave me a brief basic treatment with the Scenar device and for the first time since my fall, I slept all night and felt considerably better in the morning. That day, 100% convinced about the benefits of Scenar, I booked myself onto Professor Revenko's Scenar Therapy training course.

With a general nursing qualification and a diploma in health visiting as my background, I am able to offer a holistic approach to my Scenar practise, producing very positive results for treating both acute injuries and long term issues.
